GCH Dragon House Blood of a Warrior Heart of a Clown Ma'Saaki
Saaki, my Shiba Inu, was my first show dog! He was so patient with me that first year, going from show to show, learning the ropes. It took time for both of us to mature and get comfortable in the ring. Wish us luck as we close in on his Bronze GCH
The Shiba is the smallest of the Japanese native breeds of dog and was originally developed for hunting by sight and scent in the dense undergrowth of Japan's mountainous areas. Alert and agile with keen senses, he is also an excellent watchdog and companion. His frame is compact with well-developed muscles. Males and females are distinctly different in appearance: males are masculine without coarseness, females are feminine without weakness of structure. The Shiba has an independent nature and can be reserved toward strangers but is loyal and affectionate to those who earn his respect. The Shiba adapts well to different living situations, but must be exercised regularly on leash or in a secure area. Being an 'escape artist' is in their nature. It is a rare Shiba who will recall on command. Headstrong and lively, Shibas are excellent watchdogs and family pets. They are particular about keeping themselves clean and are very easy to housetrain.
